Job Title: Strategic Project Manager – HR and 3rd Party Implementation Oversight
Location: Remote, supporting EST
6 month contract + possible extension
Pay: $56/hr. W2+ medical benefits, $59/hr. W2 without medical benefits, or $66/hr. if you are incorporated on 1099
Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Project Manager to oversee and drive the successful delivery of a large-scale organizational revamp involving a third-party consultancy and cross-functional teams, with a focus on HR, Sales, and Marketing alignment. This role requires exceptional project planning, stakeholder management, and a strong ability to navigate complex interpersonal dynamics. The ideal candidate will bring structure and clarity to the project while advocating for our client’s goals, ensuring quality deliverables, and managing timelines effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Execution:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans outlining roles, deliverables, dependencies, and deadlines.
- Ensure alignment between internal stakeholders and third-party consultancy timelines, deliverables, and expectations.
Stakeholder Management:
- Act as the primary liaison between internal HR, Sales, and Marketing teams and the third-party consultancy.
- Facilitate effective communication, manage conflicting priorities, and maintain alignment with project objectives.
- Advocate for the client’s best interests, ensuring all deliverables meet internal quality standards.
Third-Party Oversight:
- Monitor and manage third-party consultancy performance to ensure accurate and timely delivery of agreed outcomes.
- Hold third-party vendors accountable, ensuring their methodologies and outputs align with the unique needs of the organization and ensuring realistic delivery expectations.
HR Collaboration:
- Navigate and resolve challenges with HR stakeholders, ensuring their input aligns with overall project goals.
- Collaborate with HR to secure approvals for project deliverables and mitigate bottlenecks.
Governance & Structure:
- Clarify and refine project roles, responsibilities, and governance structures.
- Ensure the project maintains focus on improving organizational design, sales operations, and efficiency.
- Support activity mapping to clarify how new roles align with the organizational structure.
Deliverables & Implementation:
- Drive the successful implementation of new customer portfolio segmentation.
- Oversee the adoption of new models and frameworks across customer types and sales teams.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of project management experience, preferably in organizational design, HR, or sales/marketing transformation projects.
- Demonstrated strong experience managing third-party vendors or consultancies in a high-stakes environment.
Skills:
- Exceptional project planning and organizational skills with the ability to manage complex interdependencies.
- Strong stakeholder management and conflict resolution skills, particularly in navigating challenging interpersonal dynamics.
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, Jira, etc.).
- Strategic thinking with the ability to adapt to evolving project objectives.
Soft Skills:
- Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in high-pressure situations.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, tailored to diverse audiences.
- Collaborative and empathetic approach to working with HR and cross-functional teams.
- Experience with large-scale third-party implementations involving consultancy firms.
- Background in sales or marketing projects with HR intersections – business portfolio.
- Certification in PMP, Agile, or similar project management frameworks.
